W. Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet
Well known W. Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet play, under the leadership of great Mr. Jagoš Marković will be played in July at 65th Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
Theatre director Jagoš Marković was born in Podgorica, Montenegro, in 1966. In 1987, he graduated in theatre direction from the Belgrade Faculty of Theatre Arts under Borjana Prodanović and Svetozar Rapajić.
Mr. Jagoš Marković has staged more than fifty plays, the most successful of which include The Glembays (Atelje 212), Queen Christina (Royal Dramatic Theatre of Stockholm), Kate Kapuralica (Sombor), Twelfth Night (JDP), The Comedy of Errors (CNP), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Boško Buha Theatre), Filomena Marturano (Ivan von Zajc Croatian National Theatre of Rijeka), Hecuba (Zetski Dom Montenegrin Royal Theatre), Electra (BELEF), Lucretia (Terazije Theatre, The Miser (JDP), The Cabinet Minister’s Wife (Belgrade National Theatre), Hasan Aga’s Wife (Belgrade National Theatre), The Seagull (Ivan von Zajc Croatian National Theatre of Rijeka) and Lucretia (Rijeka Summer Festival), as well as the operas Cinderella (Belgrade National Theatre), Carmen (Ivan von Zajc Croatian National Theatre of Rijeka) and The Marriage of Figaro (Belgrade National Theatre).
Jagoš Marković has won around fifty awards, such as the Bojan Stupica Award, the Belgrade Liberation Award, the 13th July Award, the Mića Popović Award, the Golden Turkey Award (several times), the Ardalion Award (several times) and the Sterija Award.
